Office Inspiration

I love seeing how other creatives choose to set up their work space. This office was featured on Design*Sponge earlier this year and I like it for oh so many reasons. My favorite aspects are: light pink fiberglass shell chair, bright paint color and of course an inspiration board filled with clippings and color swatches.

Hi blog friends! Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

I am absolutely loving:

1. Tory Burch Daniella Sandals: I have loved these forever. They no longer sell them but thankfully I found a new pair on ebay in my size. It was my birthday gift to myself.

2. OPI's Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous. Wearing it right now and love the charcoal shimmer.

3. April Crop Denim from Abercrombie & Fitch. I honestly haven't stepped in A&F since about eighth grade but I recently realized they do sell a great pair of boyfriend jeans.

4. Kate Spade Tutti Fruitti Necklace. Remember this post? My MOM saw the post and surprised me with this necklace for my birthday. I love love love it! Thank you mom for such a fun bday surprise!

Birthdays+Inspiration

I found a book the other day titled For you, My Daughter at my parents. I opened the first page to find a handwritten note from my mom. It was dated August 22, 1992. My mom bought the book when I was four years old, wrote me lots of notes and referenced her favorite poems and quotes for me during times of happiness, hardship or when I needed inspiration. I had no idea she had done this for me. I turned to the page she referenced for inspiration and read it.  It was exactly what I needed to hear for this season of my life and I immediately teared up. It's funny how little things like that can mean so much. So, I thought I'd share it:

This stuff is uh-mazing! I always put chap stick on before I use lip gloss or lip stick. This two in one product is perfect for me.

Blue+Black romper from Express

Express is my go to spot for shorts and rompers this seasons. Their shorts are extremely flattering and I am a huge fan. I purchased this sweet romper a few weeks back and can't wait to wear it!

Vince Camuto Heels

This is my favorite brand of shoes right here and I happen to love these in particular. If you're looking for a classic pair of pumps check them out at Dillard's or Nordstrom.

Style Crush: The Morning Tea

Yes, it is a lovely 82 degrees here in Norman, Oklahoma and I am falling in love with this green jacket. What is wrong with me? In the winter I want Summer. In the Summer I want winter.

Anyhow, this look is from etsy seller The Morning Tea.

Though I am loving this winter look, I can't wait to pull out the rompers and shorts this weekend. Oh, and my new sandals. I bought myself three new pairs for my birthday. All from Ebay. Yep.

I think an evening out would be a little more fun if I was wearing this dress.

What a fun dining nook! Wouldn't this color palette+bold stripes on the walls be so modern+chic+CUTE for a little girls room? Sure would!

Everything you'll ever need for a day of fun...

Everything you'll ever need for a day of fun...as a designer, that is. A little pandora, chocolate chex, coffee and sweet tea. Oh, and of course awesome clients! These things make for a lovely day! I am currently working on some wedding invitations. Brides are my absolute favorite to work with! They are so open creativity and something different! 

THAT chair

As I've mentioned before, I am in love with Kate Spade designers. They have mastered the {collage wall, among many other things} using frames in a variety of shapes, textures and colors. Bravo!

On another note, THAT neon pink chair. What an unexpected surprise in a classic/traditional space. Aside from your initial opinion of pink, what do you think of the extreme contrast?  I'd like to know, are you cohesive with style in your home or do you like to throw in a little contrast every once in a while? Go!

Blind Letterpress

I am obsessed with these letterpress and blind letterpress invitations. The art of letterpress truly becomes the design of these pieces. The handwritten calligraphy isn't too shabby either.

I am slowly learning all of the terminology associated with printing and I love it. Letterpress is when a plate is made in the reverse and then pressed into the paper. Typically, only two ink colors can be used unless doing digital letterpress (we can talk about this term later). Blind letterpress is when no ink is used and simply the plate alone is being pressed into the paper. Paper thickness is pretty important for letterpress invitations. For example, the invitations above use a lovely thick paper and once letterpressed, a deep texture is created. *The way to tell if something has been letterpressed correctly is to turn the paper over. There should never be an indention on the other side from the plate, if printed correctly or unless specified by the designer otherwise.

Mopeds+Moody Colors+MARCH

Happy MARCH! This month is going to be GREAT! It is officially my birthday month. Yes, birthday month. Some have birthday weekends and maybe birthday weeks but I make the most of March and celebrate the whole month (my bday is at the end of March, hence celebrating the whole month). My mom is shaking her head as she reads this right now, I am sure.

Other things to look forward to in March: Spring weather is almost here and that means dresses and sandals! Goodness, I love a good pair of tights, but frankly, I am getting tired of wearing them with dresses. I need warm weather!
