Currently Loving....Fall Decor

Pinterest has to be my least and most favorite thing ever. Least favorite because it tends to make me want to redo my entire home all the time and favorite because it is one of the only things that I find truly relaxing after a long day. It is the weirdest thing, once I start looking at pinterest, my brain just kind of slows down. I am thinking it is because pinterest houses so much inspiration and pretty pictures, maybe? Does anyone else feel this way about pinterst?

I have more pinterest boards than I care to admit but I have been in fall decor mode lately. Here are a few images of inspiration that I am considering for my home this fall. Most are DIY! I love a good weekend project :)

I love a simple yet elegant wreath and this one definitely does the trick. I think this would be a fairly easy DIY. You will just need a lot of pine cones and hot glue :)

Painting pumpkins is a genius idea! Especially for those who don't like carving pumpkins (me) but love the festive look pumpkins bring to fall decor. This would be a great project to do with kids, too! The options are endless with colors, patterns etc.

This is very Pottery Barn. Perhaps it is Pottery Barn. Not sure. Anyhow, love that it is filled to the brim with fun details.

Love this DIY garland. It would be pretty to wrap on a mantle.
I am certain I need to get some metallic paint in my hands asap. I really think I will go the painted pumpkin route this year. So fun!

I love how neatly decorated this door front is. I think I need some urns in my life or rather on my porch :) I love how pretty this is.

Are you already planning for your fall decor? Got any fun ideas? I would love to hear them!

How I spent my Thursday evening...

I grew up seeing my dad work in our flower beds each weekend pulling weeds and making everything look perfect. So naturally, when I bought a house...my goal was to have clean and colorful flower beds like my parents. Remember this adventure from last year? Things have come a long way and I actually enjoy landscaping more than I thought. It's awfully rewarding when it increases curb appeal!

This year I bought a few more evergreens (a couple of mine died over winter, it happens) and then I went crazy adding lime green ground cover, portulaca ground cover in pink, yellow, orange and white and begonias in pink, red and white . I am not really into yard ornaments but last year when I graduated college I was one proud graduate so my mom bought me a Sooners stone and I love it. Unfortunately the tree next to the stone died. Sad sad.

Ps: I will post more pictures later..but remember when the front yard was lacking grass? I planted sod and it is all filled in now...it looks sooooo much better! :)

A Before & After: Landscaping

BEFORE: What a mess!..I promise there is a house behind that massive tree bush shrub thing...

Chained it to a truck...

SEE! I told you there was a house behind that thing...

AFTER: Spray painted the shutters/ added new shutters under the porch, new mail box and new porch light and landscaping! The flower bed used to be HUGE, so I made it smaller so it was manageable. The plan is to plant grass when it isn't so hot outside.

Ripped out all of the old plants/ flower beds and layed the new brick and planting...Lots of work but SO worth it!

The other side. Remember there used to be wooden posts that made a flower bed? Ripped those babies out!  Still need grass over here too... :)

Love coming home to a nicely landscaped home...!
