After working out, I used to get small breakouts (face and back) and I had no idea how to make it go away. My lovely pharmacist of a mom recommended witch hazel and IT IS AMAZING! It is my favorite beauty essential by far. It makes me feel so good knowing that I can wear a tank top this summer and not have to worry about yucky breakouts on my shoulders or back.
I apply witch hazel two or three times a day: once when I get out of the shower, once after I work out (to get the sweat off my skin in the areas that are most prone to breakouts) and then once before bed. Witch hazel works by drying out the area so blemishes won't appear. After I take a shower I use witch hazel and then use lotion over a the base layer of witch hazel just so my skin doesn't dry out.
Oh, and if you're super awesome, you won't buy from CVS but from a local independent pharmacy, they are the best.
