Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! Hope you all have some treats planned for today! I will be passing out candy this evening, I am excited to see kiddos in their fun costumes!

I am loving this pumpkin that has been painted with chalkboard paint! It is so creative and fun! I am filing this away for halloween next year! It's a must!

One of my TCU friends, Katie, has the best taste in fashion. She posted about Madewell's fall line today and I am completely obsessed! I am loving the neutrals accessorized with fun pops of color! LOVE!

Using up my Pantry in November

Ok, my pantry is beginning to get a little...cluttered with canned food. This happens to everyone, right? I really don't know how it happens...I suppose I just buy ingredients to make a meal and...never ending up making the meal?!? Based on the way my pantry looks...this has happened to me a lot. I've got a lot in there! From canned items like green beans, black beans and chicken broth to tomato sauce and pasta.

For the month of November, I am only planning meals with only the ingredients in the pantry. I got this fun idea from a friend and she let herself have a small grocery budget for fresh produce and meats. I think that sounds like a good idea! It is going to take discipline but I can do it!

Oh man. Homemade pumpkin cookies...UH-mazing!

I've recently taken interest in baking. On the weekends I'll grab a cup of coffee and browse the internet in search of yummy looking recipes (regular meals & desserts). I've absolutely loved browsing The Pioneer Woman's Tasty Kitchen. I love reading the reviews and comments of others. It's extremely helpful for someone new to cooking like me. I've been saving most of the recipes and tonight I decided to make one- Pumpkin Cookies with Cream Cheese Frosting. All I have to say is absolutely amazing! 

Getting Inspired...What Inspires You?

I love this beautiful inspiration board by designer Anna Beckman. I recently moved into a new office at work with a BIG bulletin board that I can't wait to fill with design inspiration. It has a few lovely designs but nothing compared to this fun board. I am most inspired by color, pattern, typography design and interior design.

Friends in town!

(during kelli's visit, I got a haircut..i have bangs now! whoo!)

My sweet friend, Kelli, came in town this weekend with her husband. They came for a wedding but I got to spend some time with them! Kelli and I met four years ago in Hampton Beach, NH. We were on a summer project with campus crusade. I made some very dear friends from that summer!


This weekend we ate lots of yummy food and went to Norman's massive Casino, River Wind. The only times I have been to the casino in the past three years are with Kelli :) 


Though we had a wonderful time, I would have loved for Katie to have been there!!!!!!

wedzu is a new site that launched today (thanks Becky for showing me!) that specifically caters to handmade+indie weddings. i took one look at the site and oh my goodness! I am already in love. Makes me want to start a wedding line of invitations and little cake flag pennants :) so fun! I will definitely be scoping this site out weekly...I adore etsy but it's got some competition now!!  ;)

Boots Sans Tights

I love Sienna Miller. She has great style and her hair is uh-mazing. On another note* I am so excited to start wearing dresses with boots right now. Its cool enough outside to wear boots but not cold enough for tights. Love the look and a dress and boots is exactly what I am wearing to work tomorrow!
