blue+orange

what a warm and relaxing feel this room has
the walls are bold but thats what makes it unexpected and different..i like it.

When doing graphic design I am constantly thinking about colors and how to pair them together to make the strongest design possible. When deciding on an entire color scheme, I consider the compliment color of the color I have already chosen. It doesn't always work out for the particular job I am working on but compliments do work well paired together in certain cases. Because compliments are on the opposite side of the color wheel for being warm or cool colors, when placed next to one another they tend to intensify creating a very striking color scheme. Ive never been a huge fan of purple and yellow nor red and green together. But I do really enjoy a nice blue orange color scheme when it has been designed in a balanced and chic manner.

I can totally see the first image as a living room for a family. Its cozy yet stylish. The second image is funky and playful. I tend to gravitate towards this kind of design. Its unique. Its not everyday you walk into a home where someone has a room painted this color blue! Not to mention, crazy paint over nice decorative molding...i like the addition of texture! The white grounds the intense color scheme. Its adds a light and fresh quality to the room.

If you can't decide on the perfect color scheme for your home, a color palette generator can help you decide on just the right colors....instead of just sticking to the 6 main colors of the color wheel, a color palette generator will help you expand into tints, tones, and shades within the six colors...it'll give you a thousand (actually, more like millions!!) more options when choosing a color scheme. This is my favorite color palette generator.
